Role Overview:

We are looking for a Physical Metals Trader to source and trade gold and copper from Africa, particularly Ghana and Zambia, supporting our growing Africa business. This is a hands-on role focused on physical spot trading, export logistics, P&L responsibility, and supplier network management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and execute physical trades of metals (gold and copper) from African producers and exporters.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, brokers, and trading partners in Ghana, Zambia, and other African markets.
• Take ownership of P&L for executed trades and make independent sourcing and pricing decisions.
• Monitor market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and pricing to identify trading opportunities.
• Coordinate procurement, sales, shipping, and export logistics.
• Conduct market research, prepare reports, and support trading strategies.
• Identify and mitigate market and operational risks.

Requirements:

• Minimally 3 years experience in physical metals trading, ideally gold and copper.
• Strong network in Africa, especially Ghana and Zambia.
• Proven track record of executing profitable trades.
• Knowledge of international trade procedures, contracts, and compliance.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and execution skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, finance, international trade, or related field.
• Fluent in English, with strong business communication skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally, particularly to African markets.
